Selam aleykum,
update:
*) I've corrected some spelling mistakes (yeah, I know there's still a bunch)
*) I've added a favicon (little icon next to URL)
*) I've added some illustrations. I hope this makes the site a bit less dry and easier to read. If anyone has any suggestions to further improve the site with illustrations or other media (not a fan of anasheed, so won't be adding any of that), I'm all ears ^_^

salaam aleikum warahmatullah wa barakatuh

I havenâ??t finished reading your story yet, I wanted to take my time for it. But even though I want to reply on it, these weeks I'm going true a couple of struggle's in life and perhaps these will go on for a couple more months. On top of this all my grandfather passed away yesterday morning at 7; Alhamdulillah it was on a Friday and Alhamdulillah he went peaceful. But it does make you think about life in general. And the things I went true in life is far from what you've been going true but I do believe that everything has his purpose and that every struggle makes you stronger and grow closer to Allah. Allah said in His book La yukalifo Allahu nafsan illa was3aha, and if we take this part of Allah's ayah and remember it every time we go true a struggle we will feel better knowing that Allah will grant us with something much better Inshaâ??Allah.
Sometimes we ask for Allah to make us stronger in our hearts, ways and the deen and then weâ??ll go true a struggle and first youâ??ll think why is this happening to me the only thing I wanted and asked for was that Allah would make me stronger and fill my heart with Iman. But suddenly you understand that by going true this struggle youâ??ll get stronger and your Iman will go higher as before and that these hard times will make you turn to Allah even more.
SoebhanAllah writing this down makes me feel much better. May Allah give you in life what your heart desires and if not in the hereafter. And this is what Iâ??ll ask Allah for all my brothers and sisters in Islam.
Peace
Your sister in Islam
M.

This website is incredible. Your discussion of truth is so... pure. Reading your material here feels like zooming my mind all the way out. It is a rare and precious feeling today.

I'm surprised the guestbook is so empty, this site should be getting a lot more publicity. I thank you for your efforts in putting this together, please keep it going!

wa aleykum selam
The first translation I read was a dutch one. It was from a website and the translator was not mentioned. I don't know if reading a different translation would have made a difference. Allah subhana wa ta'ala knows best. Although I can say that so far I haven't seen many significant differences in translations.
PS: I added a refutation of another paradox I encountered recently, "the paradox of omnipotence combined with omniscience".

A.A. Sir,

Truly insightful. I can't believe there's only two pages on the guestbook!

I can't express how thankful I am that I came across this site after searching for the Free Will vs. Omniscience question a physicist friend of mine posed to me after reading the first 3 surahs of the Qur'an. After coming across some views that were easily questionable due to their dismissal of God's foreknowledge, I am relieved that your explaination was fundementally the same as mine with regards to divine foreknowledge and its lack of brearing on the existence of freedom to choose.

Evolution is always a contentious issue in my classes, so I plan on reading that part of your site next insha'Allah and also the dimensionalism parts seeing as I made a deal to read the Theory of Relativity...

From your "My Story" section, I'm curious to know what translation of the Qur'an was the first one you'd read and do you think that if it had been a different one, it would've made any difference in your understanding of Islam (at a basic level) then?

May Allah reward you,
W.S.

Selam aleykum,
Ok fair enough, but then why did you say: "I disagree with your views on evolution, primarily because,..."?

Dear SMP

Assalaam 'alaykum (2nd time). Please do read the links, I think you may have misunderstood, I was not talking of you in person, but rather in generality. Forgive the confusions on both our parts.

Well first of all, I am not a Harun Yahya fan, and I disagree with a lot of the arguments from his side. I find it odd that you disagree with my views based on him. Secondly please don't argue by links it's rude, if you want to take the time to respond to my article in depth, then I will surely honor your work by reading it and possibly even replying to it. I will however not read just any link that anybody types in here. Then thirdly I never said Islam is Falsifiable. Fourthly I never said that "evolution is wrong". Also I don't see why you would confront me with "common misconceptions that I haven't made about Micheal Behe. All I did was link to a movie he featured in, I didn't say anything about their viewpoints on macroevolution.
All of these points suggest very strongly that you didn't take the time to carefully read my viewpoints but just skimmed over them and jumped to conclusions.
So, in conclusion, you claim to disagree with my viewpoints, because of things that I never said???

Assalaam 'alaykum.

SMP, hope your well. I had to say that I disagree with your views on evolution, primarily because, like many of the Harun Yahya fans, and the deedatiyyah, they often think that when Allah speaks, he is making falsifiable scientific hypothesis.

I belive that islaam neither affirms or disaffirms evolution.

Please read these links. If you say Islam makes a falsifiable hypothesis i.e 'Islam says evlution is wrong' then you would be holding the Qu'ran for refutation.

Another point I'd like to make is with regards to the ID movement you quote in your links section. I hold many of their leaders in high esteem but think they make massive mistakes.

They say that God is a refutable scientific hypothesis and furthermore, a cmmon misconception is that they reject macroevolution, they dont! Some of them accept it like Michael Behe. What they don;t accept is the MECHANISMS of evolution, namely, random mutation.

JA please give me some thoughts.

Welcome
